because there are these drug stores up here called Longs Drugs that I 've never seen in L.A. but there is apparently 3 at these locations in Los Angeles but I think under another name, I just don't know the name. Please tell me!!! :)

school/homework
theaters are not the type that you can go by yourself like in L.A.
tickets are expensive (no 4.50 Los Feliz 3 here)
one of the movies are not even going to play here for a long time
everyone here parties and no one just wants to go watch a movie!!!

Oh my god, I woke up hearing a mountain lion eating a deer. It was amazing and terrifying at the same time. God, I love this place. Ahhh!!! It's happening again! OH MY GOD I'm going to get eaten by a mountain lion.

Anyway, thank god I found Ruby and Synthia and Christian and Moses (or they found me and I now bother them alot). It's great to be with my own L.A. people. It's so hard to adjust to Norcal's "distaste" for us (translation: some rivalry between the Northern and Southern of California which none of us knew about) and so far, the boring humor I've seen. Example: yesterday there was some event where people just got up to talk about something and mostly everyone talked about their first time having sex or getting drunk or getting high and I can't seem to find anyone (aside from the 4 people I mentioned earlier who are, unfortunately, at different colleges) who can laugh at them.

But, Mose's house is cool, they had a premiere party for America's Next Top Model and I didn't realize how much funner it can be with lots of people. Anywho, while on a ride, Ruby made me realize that although things are smaller here and certain things are not even here at all, we get the best of both worlds because we get to go back to those grander things so instead of missing it, we should be embracing what we have now and therefore have greater knowledge of both worlds.

But I still can't wait to see L.A. this weekend! I can't wait to see my cat and more than one McDonalds or Starbucks. Oh my god, you know McDonalds is not that big up North? There is two taco bells in this town (which is alot because I only know a taco bell in L.A. on Western and on Rampart) but only one McDonalds?! but there is a Trader Joes super close by which is great. Anyway, I can't wait for some IN-N-OUT and Dim Sum in a CHINATOWN. haha I've been here for less than a week but I'm already so excited to see L.A. again. haha

Hope everyone is doing well!!!!!!!!!! Miss you all! I wish you guys can all come up here and laugh at their rivalry poop. and see you in a couple of days Los Angeles, hope you are as wonderful as you've always been. :)

1st day.

I woke up at 4:25 this morning to go to the restroom.

Anyway, I'm really homesick, mostly because I didn't think about being away so far (far enough, 6-8 hours) until I was finally here sitting with my parents at the family reception dinner/bbq, knowing they get to go back home to MY home and my cat and my Los Angeles.

It's so silly but I really miss them, it was worse earlier when they were leaving but I guess I feel better, except they're coming back this morning, reminding me that they are definitely leaving so I'll probably be really bummed again for a while today.

Aside from that everything else is cool. My roommate is nice and not at all like the other girls I could have gotten and died over having. So far, everyone (except my roommate) seems to know each other and been friends before already so everyone else is pretty cold since they feel they dont need to meet other people (well exagerration on my part because when I say cold it is only because people don't say Hi when they come by, just smile and thats not enough for me!) But I haven't even been to the dining hall yet or walked around (which I can't wait since it's all so beautiful) so I'm sure I'll feel better. But until then, especially after my parents come visit me this morning and finally leave, I'm going to be pretty down. Oh well, I'm just a baby.

Something for me to read when I come back to old entries: I know that I'm never convinced that the midwest isn't as bad as everyone believe. But last night on 20/20, that couple completely confirmed their stereotype. The husband with a mullet and incomplete sentences and a wife who tries to explain that she had a disease and thats why she thought she was pregnant with sixtuplets and thus stole thousands of dollars from nice people. I know there's just a small population of people known as "white trash" but from what I've seen from that interview, they seem to suck. Well, some of them at least.
